Strategic tax advisory · Dubai, UAE

In UAE tax, what matters is not what you file. It’s what you can defend.

Alo Tax is a partner-led advisory firm for groups with real Corporate Tax, Pillar Two and VAT exposure. Big-Four rigour, delivered by the people who do the thinking, without the layers.

Why Alo

Tax doesn’t live in the law. It lives in the numbers.

Most UAE businesses end up with two kinds of adviser: accountants who know the numbers but treat tax as a year-end form, and tax specialists who know the law but have never closed a set of books, sat through an audit or looked at a deal from the inside.

We founded Alo Tax in Dubai in 2023 to close that gap. Our partners came to tax from the finance side, so we read your financials the way an auditor would and your contracts the way the FTA will.

Where we sit

Our target market is mid-sized to large companies.

Complex set-ups

While we have packages for startups and SMEs, we focus on the more complex set-ups, as we believe we add high value there.

Defensible positions

We don’t treat filing as a data-entry job. We build defensible positions for our clients and we advise them accordingly.

How we engage

We offer our services through a mix of one-time services and retainers.

Where we focus

VAT, Corporate Tax, Pillar Two and transfer pricing, from structuring through to the first return.

The UAE moved from no corporate tax to a full regime with a global minimum top-up in under three years. Most groups are still carrying positions that were never properly designed. We fix that.

UAE VAT

VAT handled end to end, from registration to refund.

The day-to-day VAT work every business needs, done by the same partners who advise on complex and non-standard transactions.

  • VAT registration and your VAT registration certificate
  • Tax Residency Certificate applications
  • VAT return filing and VAT refunds
  • VAT deregistration
  • VAT health checks, reconsiderations and voluntary disclosures
  • FTA audit support

UAE Corporate Tax

Positions designed to survive the audit, not just the filing.

Advisory and structuring across groups, free-zone entities and connected persons, with the documentation to back every judgement.

  • Group structuring, tax groups and qualifying group relief
  • Qualifying Free Zone Person analysis and substance
  • CT return preparation, review and FTA representation
Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 and Ministerial DecisionsDiscuss your CT position
Transfer Pricing

Related-party pricing you can evidence, not just assert.

Connected-person and related-party analysis under the arm’s length standard, with documentation that holds when the FTA asks for it.

  • Related-party and connected-person mapping across the group
  • Arm's length pricing policies backed by benchmarking
  • Transfer pricing disclosure form, filed with the CT return
  • Master File and Local File where the thresholds are met
Articles 34 to 36, Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 · Ministerial Decision No. 97 of 2023Review your related-party pricing
Pillar Two · Global Minimum Tax

Scoping, impact assessment and DMTT readiness for multinational groups.

The UAE’s Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax applies from financial years starting 1 January 2025. Move the slider to see whether a group is in scope.

Consolidated group revenue€900m
€0€750m threshold€2bn
In scopeRevenue meets the €750m test. If it did so in at least two of the four preceding years, UAE constituent entities fall under the 15% DMTT and need GloBE data, safe-harbour analysis and a registration plan.
Illustrative. Scope also depends on consolidation, excluded entities and the years tested.

How we work

A disciplined four-step method.

The same sequence on every mandate, whether it is a one-off restructure or a standing retainer.

01

Understand

Business context, commercial drivers and where the money actually moves.

02

Identify

Tax and regulatory risk, and where exposure genuinely sits.

03

Design

Defensible positions built to withstand scrutiny, not just to file.

04

Implement

Clear, audit-ready documentation and the people to defend it.

The people

Partner-led, with both partners accountable.

Every engagement is led by a partner, not handed to a junior team. One of us brings the technical depth, the other the commercial and operational discipline, and both answer for the outcome.
